I flew three approaches, perfectly, by hand, with the HUD, without prior approach experience. Amazing! Flying with the MYGOFLIGHT SKYDISPLAY HUD was very intuitive and easy. We flew for over two hours, no auto-pilot, never flew the aircraft or the avionics before. I was able to keep the aircraft right where it needed to be without any difficulty. For a VFR pilot, making the move to instruments with a tool like this would be very straightforward.
Intuitive. Raises the proficiency level of all pilots.
For instrument pilots, I would imagine that it would significantly help with maintaining pilot proficiency. Anything that helps make flying easier and safer is important in general aviation.
We, the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA), have been involved with MYGOFLIGHT and this project from the beginning. It is an example of industry bringing safety enhancing technologies to general aviation and we applaud this effort. Truly remarkable.
